Dyed Hair
Dying the hair has often been extremely popular for older adults in order to ensure that there is no traces of gray hair. While this has typically been associated with older adults, many younger adults also look towards dyed hairstyles to change up their appearance. Some of the most dramatic changes involve changing from dark brown or black hair to blond, or even blond to dark brown or black. This is typically added on to add additional length to hair. This style involves taking hair that is straight and various lengths and crimping it into a wavy type of design. This is most often associated with a crimping iron that can be used at home, or even at a salon. Other common names for hair crimping includes deep waves and even krinkles especially in Southern areas. The overall look was mostly popular in the 80’s and is not seem as much today.
Hime Cut (anime hairstyle)
Designed with several different hair lengths this style typically begins with fringes or bangs, then added together with hair around the side of the face that is chin length. The rest of the hair is quite long and straight. The style is thought to originate from Japanese royalty and is frequently seen in anime.
Layered Hair
This is a hairstyle that is designed to provide the appearance of extremely thick and luscious hair. This is best suited for people who have extremely thin hair. The best layers would be properly cut to ensure that the hair is given plenty of volume. There are several ways to do this, either using carefully executed layers that provide seamless transition from one layer to the next, or using chopper layers in the overall shape.
Ponytail
This hairstyle is designed with the goal of turning the hair into the design of an actual pony tail. The hair is pulled back from the head either leaving the part, or pulling the hair straight back to cover the part and then fastening in the back. If the hair is divided into more than a single ponytail it would be considered bunches.
Wavy Hairstyle
Designed as a style typically associated with men of African descent, the style is cut extremely short. Using a length that is only a bit over 1 inch long the hair is carefully combed, and styled over the course of several weeks. To ensure that the hair is not messed up while sleeping, a du-rag or stocking is worn that will protect the waves.
